GSM Credits is an international mobile based transaction system designed to facilitate various types of mobile, web & loyalty payments in real-time. The system was designed and built in Suriname in 2006 by Rekemo Suriname N.V. and has since been tested and improved on safety, security, applicability, efficiency, user friendliness and overall performance.
The system runs on dedicated payment processing servers and uses Wireless Data to communicate and process transactions. To provide an alternative (backup) communications channel, the system is SMS (Short Message Service) capable. This allows the system to be easily used in the most remote areas where Wireless Data is unavailable and on older more conventional mobile phones.
Transactions via the system are done in virtual currencies (GC's) that are covered by money in the GC Mobile bank accounts. This guarantees all included parties that their money is secure and that their transactions are paid for. In addition, this allows for a better cash flow since the money is already in the bank and actual possession of it is just a matter of requesting a bank transfer.
